Play Area Maintenance

In our eyes – There is nothing worse than an empty and unused play area. That’s why Play Area maintenance is a big part of what we do here at FLP, as by keeping an area in the best possible condition more children will be inclined to go and play and have a great time.

After a competitive tender process in early 2017, FLP won the contract to carry out the maintenance at all of the play areas under the care of Thetford Town Council. Over the years these play areas had suffered from misuse and there was parts missing, damaged surfacing and worn out play equipment on each site.

With an overall value contract value in excess of £40,000 we had our work cut out and in the early spring we set out and rubbed down, primed and re-painted over 18 individual items of play equipment across the 8 areas. Changing Swing seats, adding new bearings and bushes, patching wetpour surfacing and replacing rotten timbers wherever was needed.

Rosalind Ward, Thetford Town Council, Amenities Officer –

‘In 2015 Thetford Town Council took on the management of seven play parks all of which were very run down. After a competitive tender process for a refresh and repair programme, the works were awarded to Fenland Leisure.

We were really happy with the service we received from their sales and installation team. The works were completed on time and within budget to a high standard.’

The photos below show the before and after – and what a transformation it is! So if you think your play equipment is in need of a bit of love and care then why not call our maintenance team now on 01354 638359 and find out how we can help.
