Fairstead House

Using  Safety Surfacing to Enhance A School Playground

Fairstead House has been expanding their intake to include the nursery school and early year’s age children, and after some extensive refurbishment works to the school building as well as the construction of some new buildings.

FLP were asked to link the new area of surfacing seamlessly into the existing wetpour play area which is an old FLP surfacing project from 2010.

It was fantastic to see the old area still in good condition and in daily use. The new surfacing now continues beyond the existing flowing red pathway, it now connects up to the classroom door for the nursery group. In addition of a few abstract shapes and bright colours as well as a section of artificial grass to bring in some alternative texture to the surfacing … ensuring the play area is safe, fun and above all colourful!

The new safety surfacing looks colourful, vibrant and inviting to the new school pupils and it proves that the use of different textures and colours can create an eye catching finishing touch to any project.
