Cadbury World

African Adventure Play Area Refurbishment

FLP were delighted to win the contract to rejuvinate the African Adventure playground at Cadbury World – especially our play consultant Dave who loves chocolate!

After a detailed site survey, our proposals included replacing all the rotten timber in the tower structures, resurfacing with wetpour the entire play area, replacing all the African style thatched roofs, the rope net bridges and the safety mesh netting.  We then finished the job off with a new coat of paint.

We also added in some new features for younger children to enjoy, with custom designed and made double sided activity panels, a music station and a Ledon play jeep.

We had to complete the refurbishment to a strict deadline, starting after the end of the summer holidays, and finishing, fully completed and ready to reopen by the start of October half term.  The team worked really well, overcoming challenges with weather and the height of the structures to achieve the deadline.

During the school holidays and busy times Cadbury World attracts on average 3000+ visitors a day, so we look forward to them all enjoying this lovely updated play area.
