Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School is a lively, co-educational school in the heart of London.
Priding itself on its values, principles and educational growth of its pupils, the school sets high standards for the faculty and students alike.
The heart of the school’s ethos is the value that it sets on seeing education as a journey for its pupils and not simply as a method for passing exams.
With this in mind, we were honoured to be approached by the school to help redesign an area within their playground, so their pupils could benefit from a more vibrant and modern place to play.
The School wanted to update their existing shelter area to make it more open and accessible for all users. The existing structure needed to be replaced with something larger to create multiple play spaces for use by all. The surfacing needed replacing and the school wanted it to become a play feature in itself.
Now fully completed, the school has achieved its aim; transforming what was a very dated area into a beautiful, colourful and interactive place that the children can enjoy for many years to come. The bright colours, new play features and sturdy shelter has brought a new lease of life to the playground.
Those of you in the know will notice that the finished rope net surrounds don’t quite comply to EN1176 however, this was a specific design request from the client and therefore a disclaimer has been accepted on this basis from the client.
